How to Apply

To apply, please submit a concept paper through our website. Your submission should provide a concise overview of your organization, detailed information about the proposed program or project, and how it aligns with our mission to create sustainable social change in one of our focus areas and within our geographical boundaries.

What types of organizations does the Eileen P. Roche Foundation support?

We partner with nonprofit organizations that demonstrate strong leadership and a commitment to empowering individuals and families. Our focus areas include Early Childhood Development, Education, Access to Nutritious Food, Housing Stability, and Family Health in the greater Boston area.

What is the typical size of grants awarded?

Grant amounts vary based on the project scope and organizational needs. While we do not have a fixed funding range, we aim to provide support that aligns with the project’s objectives and potential impact. The Foundation generally does not fund more than 5% of an organization’s total budget.

Does the Foundation provide emergency or immediate funding?

No.

Does the Foundation consider multi-year grants?

Yes, we are open to providing multi-year grants when appropriate, as part of our commitment to supporting organizations in sustaining lasting outcomes.

What is the application process timeline?

Our application process is open and rolling January 1-June 1 annually. Upon receipt of your concept paper, we will reach out to within 2-3 months and let you know if we will be moving forward in our review process. Site visits will then be conducted and our goal is to have a determination made by October 15th.

If our initial application is declined, when can we reapply?

If your application is not successful, please wait for the Foundation to invite you to reapply.

Does the Foundation conduct site visits?

Yes, as part of our evaluation process, Foundation staff or trustees may conduct site visits to gain a deeper understanding of your organization’s work. If a site visit is deemed necessary, we will contact you to arrange a convenient time.
